We currently support three initiatives that work across our housing, health and support, and income program areas.


Our Cross-Program Initiative Priority Focus Areas

Billings Forge Community WorksWe support efforts to increase collaboration among and between philanthropic, public sector, and private sector funders to achieve gains in preventing and ending homelessness.

Funders Together to End Homelessness, the only national network for grantmakers working to end homelessness, uses the Trust’s $200,000 annual operating grant to harness philanthropy’s expanding potential for impact and change to help end homelessness in America.


New Haven Home RecoveryWe support efforts to heighten public awareness, support, and advocacy for solutions to homelessness through public media.

The Trust’s 2013 $300,000 sponsorship of National Public Radio supports national coverage of issues related to poverty and homelessness.

Women's Institute for Housing & Economic DevelopmentThrough the Reaching Home Campaign, we support implementation of this Connecticut plan to prevent and end homelessness, which is modeled on the federal Opening Doors plan.

In 2013, we provided the Partnership for Strong Communities with $900,000 to support their housing advocacy work in Connecticut, including coordination of a broad-based coalition of more than 50 community stakeholders through the Reaching Home Campaign.
